Founded in 2003, Safe Families for Children is a nonprofit organization that offers hope and support to families facing crises. Through a compassionate and volunteer-driven approach, we focus on creating a community of care around vulnerable families. Operating in Austin for the past 3 years, Safe Families connects volunteers and resources to promote family stability and prevent the need for children to enter foster care.

Job Responsibilities

The Family Support Manager is a part-time, hybrid position based in Austin, TX. In this role, the manager will oversee the coordination of family support services, build and maintain relationships with referral partners, and supervise volunteers who provide care to families in need. Responsibilities include assessing family situations, planning appropriate care strategies, and ensuring the timely delivery of services. The Family Support Manager will also facilitate training sessions, track program outcomes, and promote community engagement to expand the organization's reach and impact.

Job Qualifications

-Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills to effectively engage with families, volunteers, and community partners
-Proficiency in case management, family support planning, and care coordination
-Ability to train and mentor volunteers, foster collaboration, and manage team dynamics
-Organizational and administrative skills, including reporting and tracking program outcomes
-Understanding of crisis intervention, social services, and resource connection
-Proficiency in technology tools and basic computer applications, including word processing and data management systems
-Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, human services, or a related field; Masters degree preferred. -Relevant experience may be considered
-Familiarity with family systems, trauma-informed care, and child welfare services is a plus
-Passion for supporting families in need and building strong, supportive communities
-Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
