Job Overview
United Partners Pflugerville is a God-centered, community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating “A Community for All Abilities.”
In Texas, over 3.5 million people—about 12% of the population—live with disabilities, and the need for meaningful post-school support continues to grow as young adults age out of public education with limited options for vocational purpose, social connection, and community contribution. United Partners Pflugerville is committed to scaling our programs and impact to meet this rising demand and serve more adults across Pflugerville and Central Texas.
We empower these adults by providing a welcoming vocational community where Partners learn, work, and create side-by-side with peers. Through artistic activities, meaningful work, service projects, baking, exercise, social engagement, and community sales, we help Partners share their God-given gifts and talents, build purpose, foster belonging, and contribute meaningfully to the Pflugerville and Central Texas community.
Job Responsibilities
The Executive Director (ED) is the passionate champion and chief executive of United Partners Pflugerville. This hands-on leadership role demands someone with a deep, personal, and unwavering passion for empowering adults with disabilities and their families—someone who authentically embodies our God-centered mission to build an inclusive community where every Partner can thrive, learn, create, and give back.
The ED provides strategic direction while managing day-to-day operations in our small, volunteer-supported organization. Responsibilities include driving development, financial sustainability, high-quality program delivery, staff/volunteer coordination, and community advocacy—all in alignment with the vision set by the Board of Directors. The ED reports directly to the Board and serves as the primary external spokesperson and internal leader.
Job Qualifications
Required (in priority order):
* A profound, demonstrated passion for and personal commitment to serving adults with disabilities and their families—this is the foremost and non-negotiable qualification. The ED must live our mission daily, authentically champion our Partners, and bring heartfelt dedication to creating purpose, belonging, and community.
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Business Administration, Disability Services, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
* Proven success in development, grant writing, donor cultivation, and event planning.
* Experience with financial oversight, budget management, and basic nonprofit compliance.
* Exceptional written, verbal, and public speaking skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with a governing board and manage staff/volunteers in a small, hands-on setting.
* Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background screening as a condition of hire.
Preferred:
* Direct experience in the disability services sector, especially with adults post-school transition.
* Familiarity with the Pflugerville and Central Texas community, including local businesses, churches, and partners.
* Experience leading a small team heavily reliant on volunteers and community partnerships.
* Alignment with God-centered values and a desire to integrate faith-inspired community building.
