Job Overview
Volunteer position for Board of Directors member at small 501 c3 non profit Christian counseling organization in Round Rock, TX.
Board Member Position Opening (member at large)
Summary: Serves as a full voting board member without specific officer duties, often taking on special assignments or committee leadership.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
-Participate actively in board meetings (approx monthly) and decision‑making. (meetings are primarily held in person in Round Rock & occasionally held online/virtual)
-Serve on at least one committee or task force.
-Represent the interests of the community and stakeholders.
-Support fundraising, donor cultivation, community outreach and networking
-Provide additional perspective and balance in board discussions.
-Step into temporary leadership roles as needed.
-Serve a 2 year term with option to serve additional 2nd term.

1) Governance – Ensure the organization fulfills its mission and operates in alignment with its values.
2) Fiduciary Oversight – Safeguard financial health, approve budgets, and exercise prudence, care, and loyalty in decision‑making.
3) Mission Support – Encourage, pray for, and champion the Executive Director and staff; serve as ambassadors in the community.
Job Qualifications
-experience serving on boards, ideally with non-profit & fundraising / grant / philanthropy experience & skills
-Christian faith
-passion for mental health
Additional Information
Organization: “Streams in the Valley Counseling Center” is a non-profit 501 c3 organization in Round Rock, TX. We offer professional, Christian, out-patient counseling to women, men, families, couples, children, teenagers and ministry workers and their families. We offer both in-person (at our Round Rock office) & online sessions (statewide). We were founded in October 2024 by our counselor Jennifer Hicks, LPC, who has 28 years of counseling experience.
Our office is at the front of the campus of Palm Valley Lutheran Church in Round Rock. Our staff is 1 full time counselor / executive director & 1 part time bookkeeper. Our current volunteers are board members & a webmaster.
